    A Familiar Intrusion [CLOSED]

Post by Serenity on Thu May 14, 2015 3:38 pm

    L o g a n B r a n t o n

The amount of stress and worry was clouding his mind. Conflicting emotions raised within him every time he saw her face. Should she stay? Should she go? Was it right for him to ask? Did he really want her to stay? Was he ready to be with her at all times? Was he ready to be without her? His home had become hers, at least that's how he thought of it. They were together all the time, but were they 'together'? Did she even want that? Nothing had ever been confirmed. Since that night, that triple date with everyone, Logan's mind wandered in every direction. What boundaries could he push? What boundaries even existed? He didn't know. His fear of rejection kept him from asking. He couldn't speak up. He thought about it every day and night. "Ask her to stay." he'd tell himself, but each time he chickened out, which made him feel more pathetic. Did he even deserve her? Did he deserve Olivia?

The morning came and Logan was once again laying on the couch. His arm laid over his eyes, a blanket fallen half-way off of his body and to the floor. Uncomfortable. Logan sat up and leaned forward to stretch his back, multiple pops sounding out as he did. He arched his back forward and repeated the popping process. "Ugh... Damn couch... This thing is tryin' to kill my back." he said, slouching and looking around the room, clean as always. Well, it had been clean since she showed up. He wasn't going to allow a woman like Olivia to live in a dump, even though this technically wasn't her place, was it? Logan shook his head, trying to shake the thoughts from his mind. He stood up and picked up the blanket and a beer bottle he had half-drank last night. Setting the blanket on the couch, he stepped over to the kitchen and placed the bottle in the fridge, unsure whether he'd actually drink it later.

"Noon? Seriously?" Logan leaned his head to the left and right, cracking his neck. Olivia wasn't up. After a sugar high and playing every game they could think of last night, this wasn't surprising. Logan ran his hands through his hair to straighten it up a bit and walked into his bedroom. Well, it was hers right now. He stepped over and sat down on the side of the bed, watching her for a moment. "Hey..." he spoke up a good twenty seconds later, brushing her hair away from in front of her face, "It's a little late to be asleep... And, I'm sure we've got some things we need to get done today..." He spoke softly to her. He did love having her around; he wasn't lonely when she was there. And when these thoughts crossed his mind, thoughts of her leaving quickly replaced them. He looked away from her and stood up, "Come on, let's get this stuff over with..." With his head low, Logan stepped out toward the kitchen.

Wrapped up in blankets, Olivia was hard to find. Well, if it weren't for the fact the giant bulge in the bed was tossing, turning, and her legs were going around like the arms of a grandfather clock set to go for seconds instead of minutes and hours. She was happily dreaming. She wouldn't remember what the ream was about, but she was enjoying whatever frolicking she was doing at that time. And it was, dare I say, cute.

Of course, cute and Olivia went hand-in-hand. Much like a horse and carriage or salt and pepper (the condiments, not the 'musical' artists). But of course, everything must come to an end. Her brown hair stuck out of the bundle of black blankets, her closed eyes barely peeking over the red trim. And even though her face was covered, it was obvious she was smiling. It might be the little bits of giggling she let out as easily as some people snore, but it was obvious she was happy.

Olivia barely stirred when Logan brushed the hair off of her face. It did stop her mid-sleep marathon, though. It took him shaking her a little for her brown eyes—and they were purple when she fell asleep—to flutter open. A whimper of "It's still too early" without words pushed her to push the covers away. She was only in the pink-and-purple underwear she wore to bed last night, and she didn't immediately realize Logan was looking at her. But when she noticed it was Logan, by then... he had begun to walk out without saying much else.

It made an actual question mark fizzle into existence above Olivia's head. It was a little odd, but no one saw it. Olivia stirred to life, and quickly did what she could to wake up and get ready. She didn't take a shower yet. She wanted to see what they were going to do before determining how thorough of one she'd take. If it wasn't going to be much, frnakly, she'd want to go and lie back down immediately afterwards.

Olivia came out of the bedroom with just a wrinkled shirt a few sizes too large on. Well, that and the underwear she slept in. She wasn't that brave as to just walk around commando. "So..." her voice was timid and tired, "What are you planning on doing today? I think I've gotten everything ready to be packed for the trip back..." She didn't want to leave. But she felt like she was intruding in Logan's life. To her, they were a thing. But she didn't know if it was a more permanent thing to him or not.

"Do you think you can make some of that tea?" Logan asked as she came out of the room. When he first saw her, he stared for a moment. She was so damn cute and now was wearing his shirt. God, if they were just a few more weeks into this relationship and she wasn't leaving in three days, that would be very hard to resist. He glanced away anyway. "And I know we need to get some groceries. That's about it. It'd be a good idea to get some laundry done." he explained and then sat down on the couch. There was something he wanted to say to her, something he wanted to ask. Damn his cowardice. Damn his fear of rejection. Once the tea was made, Logan pat the couch next to him. He was going to say it now! He had to. His heart was racing so fast at this point. Once she sat down, he couldn't look to her. He was just stuck.

"Olivia... I..." Logan swallowed nervously, his eyes fixated on the tea up he was now holding. He kept opening his mouth to continue, but each time he failed to speak up. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly let it out as he felt himself calm enough to just spit it out. He opened them again and turned to Olivia, opening his mouth to speak and then the doorbell rang. Logan's left eye twitched. "Seriously?" he muttered and sighed as he stood up from the couch, "Gimmie a moment..." He rubbed the back of his head and walked over to the door. Leaning against the frame, he tilted his head and brought an annoyed expression on his face as he opened the door. Standing there in his door way was a model-beauty of a woman with long silky blonde hair, bright ocean blue eyes, and a body that the gods had blessed her with.

"Logan..." she turned her head toward him and smiled before stepping into him and wrapping her arms around his waist, "I've missed you..." The woman spoke in an airy seductive tone and laid her head on his chest. Logan did not move. He was completely frozen and stone faced at this. His mind on the other hand was not. "What do I do? What do I do? Why is she here?! I haven't seen her in months? What does she want now? What is Olivia going to think? Does she need help again?" These thoughts rushed wildy through his mind. "Celia...?" he muttered her name quietly. She just looked up to him and smiled. "Wh-What are you doing here?" Logan asked as she removed her arms from his waist and then wrapped them around his neck. "I'm here to see you, of course. I've missed you." she said when she noticed Olivia standing there.

"So who is this?" Celia asked with a smile kept on her face, though when Logan wasn't looking, a look of anger and challenge was shot toward Olivia. Logan glanced back to Olivia and gave as sheepish smile, unsure of what to do to handle this situation. He wasn't expecting Celia to just show up and he had obviously not told Olivia a damn thing about this woman either. In his mind, it wasn't entirely needed, but... Deja Vu... Didn't this just happen? Like... a couple weeks to months prior? With... Alain and Serenity? Logan felt himself shrinking with every moment that passed. He was in trouble if this went anyway like that did. "Th-Th-This... is O-Olivia..." Logan took a step back from Celia, sort of pulling her into the apartment because Celia was not letting go of him. Once she was in, she finally did and moved to sit on the couch, "Place is clean... This is new." Though she was acting polite, she was brushing off Olivia's existence.

What was he going to ask? Seriously. I mean, the doorbell interrupted him. What kind of cliche is this. Next it's going to be some blonde bimbo bombshell that's going to want him ba—Goddamn cliches. Olivia's eyes flashed red as her eyes met the woman's. Not just a rusty brown. No, this was red. Crayola didn't make a crayon that red.

But she calmly set the teacup down. She inhaled, trying not to acknowledge that this was about to get bad. And she smiled. Not to the woman. But to Logan. It started as a calm "I trust you to make the right decision" smile. But as she closed her eyes briefly, an addendum of "or else" came out. She was jealous to the nth degree. She wouldn't lose, not in her mind.

But physically... She saw the differences. That woman had knockers that doubled for wrecking balls. Her hair was blonde and her eyes a sapphire blue. Frankly, she was gorgeous. And then there was Olivia. She was sitting in one of Logan's old T-shirts, her hair still a mess. She wasn't pretty right now. That woman was dolled up. But not Olivia. Hell, she really didn't even want to be in underwear right now. But...

She sighed, stood up, and walked into the back bedroom. The door pointedly didn't slam. In fact, it didn't even shut. Olivia threw a pair of sweatpants on, and did a little straightening up with her hair. And she also took another swig of mouthwash. In her ire, she didn't even realize she grabbed the red bottle and not the blue one. She had just use Logan's. Not noticing the difference in taste, she finished out there and walked back.

Olivia sat down beside Logan, and crossed her legs. Her foot was aimed away from Logan. But she was close to him. She picked up her teacup, and held it. She didn't drink it. Instead, she sat there. She was staring at Logan.

Oh god, did Logan feel that tension! He may not have seen that glare that Celia gave Olivia, but the tension that he could feel coming off of Olivia was practically leaving a taste in his mouth. Logan could barely look Olivia in the eye at this point. Once she stepped away to get dressed, Logan looked to Celia and whispered to her. "What the hell? You aren't supposed to just show up like this. What exactly are you doing here?" Logan asked. He was frustrated and annoyed by this, obviously. Celia looked at him disappointed and a little shocked. "Logan... I did just come to see you... We left off on a pretty good note, you know? Now that I was back, I thought we could... well..." Celia lowered her head sadly. Logan knew where she was going with this, but didn't know how to reply. Instead, he sighed. Celia was about to continue talking to him when Olivia came back out and Logan turned to her.

Celia shot an angry glare toward Olivia and looked away soon after the brown haired girl sat down, but only when Logan wasn't looking. "So why are you babysitting? I didn't think kid's were your thing." Celia asked and Logan's eyes widened. He shot a horrified, wide-eyed, jaw dropped expression toward Celia and stood up. "I'm gonna get dressed. Be right back." Out of fear, Logan stepped away from the couch by taking the path closer to Celia. As he did, she ran her hand along his back. He arched it away for a bit and scuttled off into the room, closing the door behind him. The moment that door was closed, Celia looked to Olivia with an eyebrow raised. "I hope you don't think you're worth any part of his time. He doesn't need a little girl, he needs a woman." Celia crossed her arms along her chest, looking Olivia up and down like she was completely unimpressed with what this girl had to offer.

Logan didn't get to stand up. No, he had no way to. By the time he was about to, there was 130 pounds of jealousy on him. And two minty lips pressed against his. She held the kiss for a few seconds before pushing away and staring at the woman. Her eyes were an angry violet-grey. They weren't red, but more like the color of storm clouds about to let loose. She snarled. Actually snarled.

"Shut up!" Her voice echoed. What looked like lightning actually cracked behind her, although it made no sound and had no heat. "I am not a kid. Just because my chest isn't as over-inflated as yours, nor is my hair as bleached, it doesn't mean I can't throw your ass under a bus and leave you there." Olivia's voice was hot and heavy, and not in the way Logan may have wanted. It was ire. Sheer, pure, jealous rage.

"We're together. And I suggest," the room darkened ominously, "you fuck off. You might be a friend, but you're not getting him back. Until you get your sexual frustration out, leave." Olivia was insecure. But she was also very much like a cat. And when cornered, that's when the cat's claws and teeth sink the deepest.

As Logan went to stand up, he was immediately brought back down onto the couch when Olivia sort of appeared in front of him. His eyes widened momentarily, wondering what she was going to do. Was she mad enough to hit him? It wouldn't have been a bad idea. He was acting stupid and he knew that, but that's not what happened. Instead, Logan felt the soft impression of Olivia's lips mesh with his own in a rather forceful and aggressive kiss. His heart raced for those few seconds and as their lips parted, he was stunned. He watched Olivia tell Celia off without a single hesitation in her words and was rather impressed by it. Most people were intimidated by someone like Celia, even Logan was. It wasn't every day that a woman like that was practically crawling over you. Even if you didn't want anything to do with her, the idea of saying no really didn't click well in someone's mind.

"Who the hell do you think you are?!" Celia shouted angrily and went to push Olivia away from Logan, "I don't care what you have to say. I was around first. He and I have been together for years now, so your tiny little ass showing up out of the blue is not going to take him from me." Olivia stood firm, then drove a finger into the balloon of a breast in front of her. "Around first, but not there when he needed someone. You commented about it being clean here. I think that's because he had someone who he wanted to care for. Not some cheap fuck like you are." Logan looked toward Olivia in shock. "Did you just curse?" he said with a few surprised blinks. "How dare you! Who the hell do you think you are?" Celia reached out and smacked Olivia, "I have a fucking job, so no I'm not here every fucking day. Tell me, what do you have? You just sitting here using up his money? Making him sleep on the couch?"

"I'm the one that helped him get half of the shit he's got. I'm the one that bails him out any time he needs help. What exactly have you done for him? Hm?" Celia asked, putting her hands on her hips and pointing down at Olivia like the the girl was nothing, "Don't try to insult me because I was blessed with something you wish you had. I'm not going anywhere; You get your ass out of he-..." "What the fuck are you talking about?" Logan stood up and pushed himself between the two women, glaring at Celia, "You haven't done anything. You come around here, expect me to take you shopping, giving you the bed, and then rush off again... Frankly, you two are doing the same damn thing, but Olivia is actually nice about it. She goes shopping with me, helps me clean, does a lot of my laundry... and even tries to help me cook, even if she's not the best at it. Also, her tea is kind of amazing, even if a little sweet."

"You on the other hand use me and aren't worth my time. Celia, leave. Now." Logan slid an arm around Olivia and held the young woman close in a way to show that he meant what he was saying. He had chosen Olivia over Celia and that wasn't going to change. Celia clenched her fists, narrowed her eyes, and with a lightning fast swing of the arm, smacking Logan across the face. He stumbled back, almost falling toward Olivia, but moved himself so that the'd land on the couch. "Ow... Bitch..." he muttered as he rubbed his cheek. Celia threw one last glance toward Olivia, an almost threatening one, and then turned out of the apartment. "I won't forget this Logan!" was all either of them heard as the door slammed shut. Logan sat up and sighed, still rubbing his cheek as he looked up to Olivia. "Did you really curse?" he asked, his expression as surprised as he had been before. He really was shocked about that, but he was more surprised about something else, "You... kissed me."

Olivia didn't flinch much when she was slapped. She just stared at the woman. Striking her back was what the woman wanted. But Olivia just stared in silence. Part of it, of course, was fear. Fear of losing Logan. Fear of not being enough to beat the bimbo in front of her. And most of all, fear of rejection. Sometimes fear makes you run. Your legs will carry you for miles on fear alone. But sometimes, like today, fear makes you want to stand your ground. To give the big middle finger to your opponent(s).

Olivia just stared at Celia as Logan continued on. If she moved, her power would be gone. She had to be still. She had to be a wall. But when Logan slid the arm around her, she could feel herself weakening. She was actually shaking. Logan would definitely be able to feel it. She was mad and afraid. Prime emotions like that aren't too far away from one another. The only time Olivia winced was when the door slammed shut. She would have loved to have intercepted that blow, but she didn't have the strength.

Logan looked to her, confused. He asked if she cursed. She stood still, her head lowered in a solemn avoidance. He pointed out that she kissed him. And a single sparkle fell from her shrouded face and hit the floor. And more fell. And then, Logan's shirt was full of a young girl's tears and her sobbing face. She didn't cry out, but her grip on his shirt tightened. She had moved in a flash to basically be face-to-face with him, except her face was buried in his chest.

A few seconds later, Olivia's trembling head peaked up. "I'm sorry I forced that kiss..." She spoke in between sniffles, her voice becoming quite stuffy the more she talked. "I just... didn't want to lose you... I thought if I just... said that you were mine... I thought she might back off..." Olivia's tears still ran down, the silver streaks showing a side of her no one really thought she could show.

And then her lips trembled. "I can't lose you..." Her grip tightened more and her knuckles turned as white as the snow they first met under. "I don't... want to leave..." Olivia's eyes were pleading. "I don't want to leave you, Logan!" She could be anywhere in the world, but she wanted to be with her big, strong protector. He would save her. He would protect her. But he wouldn't coddle her either. And that meant something.

She was shaking. It was extremely difficult for Logan to keep his stance against Celia when he could feel Olivia shaking in his arms. And when that slap came, sending him into the couch, he did his best to make sure she didn't fall with him because damn did that hurt. As the woman left though, things were able to calm down in Logan's mind. He turned his attention toward Olivia, which is where he wanted it to be in the first place. As he talked to her, Logan watched her sort of just stand there. He barely noticed the tear falling and then felt a strong pull of guilt when the rest came. "Olivi-" he stopped mid-word when she darted toward him and buried her face in his chest. He had been trying to sit back up, but couldn't now. Instead, he relaxed and laid into the couch, watching her cling to his shirt. He hesitated for a moment, but he soon found his arms wrapped tightly around her in a soft embrace.

Logan held onto her until she finally looked back up to him. When her eyes met his, she could see the worry. He didn't like seeing her cry. "I'm sorry I forced that kiss..." Logan just stared at her. Did she really feel like she forced it? It was 'forceful' yes, but Logan was not forced to kiss her. Maybe it was because he froze up? Shit, that was his fault. He was so surprised that he didn't entirely return it. "I just... didn't want to lose you... I thought if I just... said that you were mine... I thought she might back off..." That was new. That was very new actually. She didn't want to lose him? Logan had never heard something like that before, ever. He figured he was more of a burden on people than something to be lost. She continued, and Logan laid there in a stupid silence, wondering what he could say. The thoughts that rushed through his mind were slowly becoming something that he could understand.

"Come here..." he said and lifted her chin a bit, wiping her tears away. He then leaned in and placed a small kiss against her lips, holding it for a moment before actually moving deeper into it. He was gentle and sweet as the kiss continued. After about ten seconds would be when Logan pulled away, but if she chose to stop it sooner, he would oblige. After that, he'd adjust himself on the couch a bit and pull her on top of him. There was nothing sexual about it and Olivia would be able to tell. He just wanted her there. He wanted her close. "We'll go shopping later, alright babe?" he said laying his head back against the pillow that he had been using every night. And that was the first time that Logan would have called Olivia by anything that meant yes, she was now his. He took a deep breath and just relaxed. "This couch suddenly got a lot more comfortable..." he said with a small smile on his face.

Olivia let Logan move in deeper for the kiss. She wanted that. He was, in fact, what she wanted. Hell, it might be worthy to say that he is what she needed right now. The thought that her father wasn't going to come back was sinking in before this. It had been so many years. And yet nothing. Not a sound. Not a peep. This trip was probably going to be her last to Varedia... had she not met up with Logan.

And the thought of her father not returning vanished. In fact, just about everything vanished. Olivia didn't pull away from the kiss. She didn't want to. She actually forced Logan to keep it going for a second or two more than he wanted to. Damn he tasted good. Olivia was red from crying and embarrassment. The next thing she knew, she was on top of him. It was similar to their first meeting, only reversed. She was the top this time.

Olivia buried her head in his chest, an ear resting right above his heart. The rapid thump-thump was calming somewhat. Olivia's hands slipped behind his neck, and her arms made her into a human necklace for the man. She wasn't letting go either. Olivia peered up at him as he spoke and smiled. "You called me 'babe...'" Her head nuzzled deeper in his chest, her tiny nose rubbing across his heart in glee.

After a few seconds of that, she calmed down. After a few minutes of just lying there, Olivia spoke up. "Logan..." Her voice was far calmer than before. "I... still have a few months of school left. So I was wondering..." Her head peeked up from his shirt just enough to see her eyes. "Would you mind staying with me in Colburn until I graduate...?" She was timidly asking if they could live together—for a time, at least. "I have an apartment off-campus... and... even though it's a one-bedroom..." Her head dove back in the safety of his shirt. "I think the bed... would be more comfortable with you in it too..." A single eye poked out to see his response.

"You surprised me with a kiss; we're even." Logan replied with a smirk at her 'babe' comment and opened one eye to look toward her, "And you confirmed we're together, right? I think I can call you babe. I'd like to, at least" Logan brought his hands down to her waist and poked gently at her sides, hoping to tickle her a little bit. Once Olivia calmed down a bit, the two of them just laid there comfortably. Together. After a few minutes, right when his body had fallen into enough relaxation that he was close to falling asleep, Olivia spoke up. "Hm?" he replied in a soft grunt and opened his eyes slightly to look down toward her. He brushed her hair back behind her ear as she tried asking him something. Once she finished asking, Logan was silent for a bit. She had a few months of school left, she had to go back and finish. He wanted her to stay here. He wanted to be with her, so he could go?

Olivia continued on with the explanation of her apartment and threw Logan way off by offering him a place in her bed. His eyes widened as he looked down to her, blinking rapidly in shock. "Um..." was his first reaction. God he was bad at this. After a few moments of thinking, he just smiled and nodded. "I'd like to if you're actually okay with it." he said with a smile, "Honestly... I had been trying to... well... ask you to stay here with me... I kinda forgot about your school. Alain'd kill me if you didn't finish, so yeah. I'll go back to Colburn with ya." Logan gave a big tooth-showing grin and relaxed his head back once more. "I'll just have to see if Izumo'd watch my place for a while... I don't wanna come back and the entire place has been trashed, ya know?" He was going to go even if Izumo said he didn't have the time. "So... I'll head out with you the day you're supposed to leave, that okay with you, babe?"
