    ARCADIAN GODS

    Arcanist Teachings In Arcadia

Gods Of Aurora Vincent_zpsekd34d1xGods Of Aurora Elfric_zpsehepypioGods Of Aurora Rydia_zps6myr56af

The Founding Arcanists were not Gods, but they were revered similarly. These three people brought the knowledge of Arcana to the world, allowing people to access a resource more powerful than they previously thought possible. Their teachings are still followed by many. Though they do not form any religion or church, many treat these three with equal to the importance of the Gods and the history of Aurora. The Founding Arcanists are followed mostly by anyone who is studying to become an Arcanist themselves. Their teachings are spread through Rydian Academy as well, though students are told to choose their path carefully because your choice will heavily define you as an Arcanist.

Vincent Arklight The Divine Sorcerer's teachings encourage people to better themselves with no hesitation. They are taught that Sorcerers are all powerful and able to rise above anyone. Those who follow these teachings see Sorcerers as Demi-Gods, closest beings to being Gods themselves. They are taught to worship Zafildir and Inhert, the Gods of War and Justice. Those who follow these teachings are called: Arklian. (Ark-Lee-Un)

Elfric Adonas: The Grand Scholar's teachings are about knowledge and enlightenment. They encourage people to expand their mind as far as they can stretch it. They are taught that Scholars are the Arcanist of Intelligence and knowledge, Sorcerers the Arcanists of Will and Power, and Evoker's the Arcanist of Adaption and Opportunity. They are encouraged to worship Hatos and Theral, the Gods of the Sun and Sky. Those who follow these teachings are called: Adonic. (Uh-Dawn-Ick)

Rydia Ianette: The Master Evoker's teachings are about love and patience. They encourage people to aid one another whenever they can. They are taught that Evokers, Scholars, and Sorcerers, though very different in the way they get their power, are all alike in their love for the Arcane Arts. They are encouraged to worship Alena and Ava, the Goddesses of Mercy and Light. Those who follow these teachings are called: Ianethlyn. (Ee-Ah-Neth-Lin)

    Arcadian God List

Note: All blessings and curses are extremely rare. Do not abuse them in anyway.

Kalo and Milani:  God and Goddess of Love, Unity, and Family

Milani is a daughter of Dekendo and Dardiana. She was originally meant to marry Inhert because of a deal that Inhert's Father, Hatos, had made with her Father. Milani did not love Inhert and her heart had already been given to Kalo, the son of Odia and Shax. Insulted and rightfully angry, Hatos planned an attack on Dekendo, but was convinced otherwise by his son, Inhert. Inhert had secretly saw Milani and Kalos together, overhearing a conversation they had about not wanting to sacrifice the Aether Realm for their love. Seeing the love the two held, Inhert announced he was not interested in marrying Milani and encouraged her and Kalos' union. Hatos was convinced and the war never started. Kalo and Milani were able to marry and are still together centuries later. The two now dedicate their lives and power to aiding others with matters of love, even in aspects of revenge.

    Gods Of Aurora Kalo%20and%20Milani_zpsuhoi2ohs

These two are the God and Goddess of Love, Unity, and Family in Arcadia. Kalo is male and therefore represents the males. Milani is female and therefore represents the females. These two are the most popular Gods within Arcadia. Whenever someone is married, the male asks for the blessing of Milani while the woman asks for the blessing of Kalo. They ask the God/Goddess opposite of their gender because their is no "giving the daughter away" in Arcadia or asking for another non-deity for their blessing. You ask the God that represents that person for their blessing instead. There have been times that Milani or Kalo have spoken against a marriage by shattering any near by glass. If a marriage is approvable in their eyes, they do nothing and the wedding continues on. The only time people get signs from them is if something within a marraige is wrong and you must figure out what.

The Blessing: There are only three blessings that Kalo and Milani give. The most popular one is the approval of marriage. If a persons wedding did not fail, then the union was looked nicely upon and there is high possibility of it lasting for a long time. Those who break their vows in negative ways (cheating, abandonment, abuse), are sometimes cursed. If this happens, there is a second blessing that they may give. This blessing is called "Fortunato in Amore", meaning Lucky In Love. It is given to aid the person that was wronged in their previous relationship a bit more guidance for their next one. The final blessing is called "L'ira di Amore", meaning Love's Wrath. This blessing is given to those that ask for their aid in getting revenge for a fallen loved one, (ONLY wife or child). This blessing gives them a power/skill boost once they've found their target and eases their pain afterwards.

The Curse: The curse that befalls someone who has horribly wronged a past lover is not always given out. It takes a Gods power to deal one and a lot of convincing for them to use extra on anyone in particular. This curse causes the person's body to slowly become deformed over time. The curse cannot be lifted unless the cursed one is redeemed or truly forgiven by the one they wronged.

Hatos, Luna, Inhert, and Zafildir: God Of The Sun, Goddess Of The Moon, God of Justice, God of War

Gods Of Aurora Hatos_zpsq0j469huGods Of Aurora Luna_zps9t6wqlfyGods Of Aurora Inhert_zps7ilboc4vGods Of Aurora Zafildir_zpswqx7ar0z

Hatos and Luna are the God and Goddess of the Sun and the Moon. Hatos is often looked to for guidance. He is especially loved among fire users, but when it's too hot outside, he is often blamed. He is a playful man, so he sort of pouts at the blame he gets and often makes it one or two degrees hotter when people complain. If it's too hot, some even assume that Hatos must be angry or training his children. Luna is often looked to for guidance as well, but this comes more from sailors and anyone who is often on the ocean. She uses her power to keep the currents calm. When the ocean is going a little crazy, it is often assumed that she is angry. The two work together to keep things balanced.

Inhert is the oldest son of Hatos and Luna. He is in charge of aiding those in Aurora with matters of right and wrong. If someone is wrongfully accused, he can perform small miracles to aid people in the right direction. Same goes for if someone is rightfully accused, he can perform different acts to make sure that it stays that way. Zafildir is the second born to Hatos and Luna. He's similar to his brother, though only performs this through acts of battle. He does his best to keep as many people alive as possible, but also guides those who worship him into making the right decisions. He gives them sparks of muse to encourage different ideas, sometimes safer and others are more dangerous.

Coming Soon: God Of The Sky, Theral

Coming Soon: Goddess Of Light, Ava

    Coming Soon:Goddess of Mercy, Alena

Coming Soon: Gods/Goddesses of All Seasons

    BRAUKAN GODS

In accordance with the belief in 'survival of the fittest', there isn't a particularly powerful deific or religious presence within Braukan society. Believing in the power of human nature and the world around them, Braukans essentially worship a set of 'nature gods', that align with many different species of animal.

    Emyr, the All-Father

The only vaguely humanoid deity worshipped within Brauk, Emyr is essentially the 'animal spirit' of all human-like races--this includes Elves, though you'd imagine that most would prefer to deny this association. He carries the blade in one hand; this blade is the symbol of humanity's power to overcome its tribulations, cutting through any barrier in order to survive absolutely. The weapon tends to shift in appearance based on the most common weapon of the day, though it is almost always a sword. In his other hand, he carries a flame. This flame is both mundane and arcane, and represents the power that humanity holds within itself to survive. The fire heats the meal, warms the hearth, melts away the snow. It is the combination of these two factors which bring together the survival instinct and power of the human--something which most Braukans believe to be the truest form of purity. Emyr is also known as 'The Leader of the Pack'.

    'The Pack'

'The Pack' is the collective name given to the bestial deities of Brauk. Most species have a spiritual representative, and Braukan people tend to wish upon the beasts for certain blessings. For obvious reasons, these "beast blessings" aren't as frequent or as effective as those granted by the humanoid deities, but they're just as obvious sometimes. While there are a multitude of beasts that represent every creature found in Brauk, there are a few that are far more prevalent and widespread than the rest.

Gwyn - The White Wolf: Gwyn is the most commonly invoked beast in the Pack. He is the God of Hunts and therefore is prayed to in order to assure a successful hunt and return. It is more common for parents to ask for Gwyn to walk aside their children as they hunt for food, rather than asking Gwyn to do the hunting. Braukan tradition is self-sufficiency.

Haearn - The Great Bear: Haearn is the beast of the Pack invoked when a father or mother wishes their child luck in personal hardship, whether this is through combat or otherwise. You invoke Haearn when you wish for your kin to gain the strength of the Great Bear to conquer whatever obstacle stands before them.

Dilys - The Lonesome Tiger: Dilys is only invoked on certain special occasions--specifically, when a Braukan youth is to come of age. It is customary for one to wake up in the middle of nowhere on their sixteenth birthday with nothing but basic survival tools, their wits and the combined training of sixteen years of youth. A few of them don't survive, but those who do come out as adults. When you send your child off to survive, you invoke Dilys--the lonesome tiger will stalk them and watch their back, keeping danger from snapping at their toes.

Morgan - The Stalwart Turtle: One invokes Morgan in order to protect something that is close to them--usually house and family. The Stalwart Turtle grants the strength to protect that which one cares for. A man who feels under the protection of Morgan will always fight to the end, because they know they have that protecting them.

Endellion - The Black Dragon: This one is a bit unusual, especially considering the history that it has with Brauk--however it should be known that, yes, Endellion is one of the worshipped animal deities of the Braukans. However, one does not simply invoke this spirit, for it is the fickle essence of destruction. When a nation finally breaks and has no choice but to destroy its enemy, the Braukan army will march with the dragon symbol emblazoned upon their standards. For Brauk, Endellion is more than a ravening beast of destruction. It is the purest form of survival of the fittest. "We are more powerful. We will claim victory."

    ZAKATIAN GODS

Gods Of Aurora KnightGods Of Aurora SeekerGods Of Aurora HolySonGods Of Aurora HolyFatherGods Of Aurora HolyMotherGods Of Aurora HunterGods Of Aurora Wife

From left to right, the deities are Vukota, Radovan, Zakion, Gradimir, Nevenka, Dragisa, Tihana.

Gradimir, the Holy Father: Gradimir is the main god Zakatians pray to. He is the one that is the protector of All Under the Stars. In the Book of Oakegar, Gradimir was the first being on Aurora. His holy sword, Onvichus, was said to have cleaved the world nearly in two—and the area where the Empire of Zakat is centered upon was where his blade was unable to cut. He awaits in Faevana, keeping the utopia there just as it is and always will be—the perfect world.

Nevenka, the Holy Mother: Nevenka is the second god Zakatians pray to. She is the Bringer of Life. Nevenka is Gradimir's wife. She was said to be the reason Onvichus could not cut the Bridge of the World. She was the first being Gradimir saw, and he was unable to kill her. Together, they sprung forth the first being of love, Zakion. She resides is Faevana alongside her husband, and she keeps him company. She greets all who come to Faevana.

Zakion, the Holy Son: Zakion is the first and only child of Gradimir. Zakion is the only Zakatian deity known by two titles—the Harbinger of Recklessness and the Beacon of the Coming Generation. He is known for his recklessness and impulsiveness, and is referred to as the guardian of children. According to the Book of Oakegar, Zakion single-handedly protected the first generation of mortals from all beasts that tried to harm them until they too could wield a sword and shield. He is the one who will inherit Gradimir's throne when his father dies.

Radovan, the Saint of the Seeker: Radovan is the Saint of the Seeker. Radovan is a guardian of all intellectual pursuits and the sating of curiosity. In the Book of Oakegar, Radovan looked at the world and discovered its surface value in a day. He built the first mine and disappeared into it, as he needed to know what made up the world's inside. Zakatians believe that any large cavern is one of Radovan's tunnels. Paintings or statues of him are in schools and libraries.

Dragis, the Saint of the Provider: Dragis is the Saint of the Provider. He is one of the oldest of the Saints, and he is rarely worshipped anymore. Dragis is a guardian of all those that provide for their families. In the Book of Oakegar, a single hunt by Oakegar could feed his family for a year. He would not hunt for others, but would lend them his mighty bow—Strelka. Dragis was known for his bird that rested on his shoulder as well, known as Aquila.

Vukota, the Saint of the Warrior: Vukota is the Saint of the Warrior. Vukota is a guardian of those who pick up their sword to defend something. In the Book of Oakegar, Vukota was the first human to stand up to a dragon that was destroying the countryside. He did not try to plead with the dragon, and instead struck it down to make sure that it would not harm anyone again. This turned out to be Gradimir in disguise, wanting to test mortal might. He was pleased that Vukota was able to slay the dragon, and offered him riches. Vukota instead swung at Gradimir and gave him a scar. Vukota told Gradimir "Be it man or god, anyone who dares hurt my people will be struck down."

Tihana, the Saint of the Home: Tihanna is the Saint of the Home. She is Vukota's wife, and she is the guardian of those that keep a home. This does not mean a house, but a home. Her original title was "the Saint of the Family," but it changed to the Saint of the Home over time. In the Book of Oakegar, she came to Vukota's defense as he was about to be struck down by Gradimir. She claimed that he was doing it for his family, for the child there was and the the child that was to be. She stated that if Vukota were to be slain for doing such a thing, then she should be slain as well. Gradimir sheathed his blade and began to walk away when Tihana offered him a meal, to which he was surprised. She said it would be rude to push away the man that spared her husband.

The Book of Oakegar: The Book of Oakegar is the main book of Zakatian religion. It chronicles the creation of the world and how the Saints came to be. Oakegar is an old Zakatian word meaning "Creation," but not many know that anymore. The book has been translated into only Common at this time.

The Afterlife: Zakatians believe in two afterlives. There is the World of Light, Faevana, and the World of Dark, Ganahar. Faevana is a place of white marble and order. There, all people who have not done evil are given a permanent utopia. Ganahar is a place of black cobblestone and chaos. There, no deity reigns. There is no order in Ganahar, and thus it is filthy, bloody, and dangerous to live in. Only those who have comitted evil are sent to Ganahar.
